Man hit by lightning in Ilocos Norte

MANILA, Philippines – A 37-year-old man was hit by lightning Saturday afternoon in Barangay Sagpatan, Dingras in Ilocos Norte.
The man, identified as Edgar Palanggoy, remains unconscious in a local hospital.
According to Palanggoy’s mother, Rosalina, the victim was on his way home from the fields along with three companions when heavy rain started falling.
Palanggoy was driving his tricycle, with two of his companions inside while the other was driving a motorcycle.
The four were hit directly by lightning.
All four were thrown from the tricycle and the motorcycle, but only Palanggoy bore injuries. --Report from April Rafales, ABS-CBN News Ilocos
