What is the lifetime of batteries? people always ask kinds of such question like,how long life span of the UPS batteries? can you guarantee it for 3 years or more? ....

ohhh, my dear friend, Here is a big mistake, now i have to tell you The battery lifetime depends on the ambient temperature and frequency of charging and discharging. Higher ambient temperature and frequent charging and discharging(we call cycle numbers) will reduce batteries' lifetime. We offer one year battery lifetime guarantee. However, the battery lifetime is close to three years under normal use.

    Friedhelm Stanke • Full agreement. Life span of lead-acid-batteries depends from temperature, depth of discharge and discharge numbers. Maintenance free (sealed) batteries can live 3 years mostly, valve regulated batteries with liquid acid normally live 10...20 years, depending from service quality.
    But there are more than lead-acid batteries in the world. Anybody remember NiCd?

      Olivier BOMBOIR • In addition to T° conditions and cycling the other parameter that can damage very quickly a battery is the way there charged. Low cost UPS are not very good in charging batteries (high ripple current, no limitation of battery current etc....)
      NiCd are certainly excellent batteries (expensive) but again need good treatment from the charger with higher risk then VRLA batteries.

        Micheal Houston • Agree more. advanced battery charging management, this function mean a lot to the batteries span life. so good UPS high quality must have this function, also the charger is very important, the charging voltage, float charging and Equalized Charging DC, the charging current, and charging mode, normally the high end UPS must have the temperature compensation voltage according to the battery management .
